Just had to get into this...checking out lazarre's profile and just fell in... 2-bit hoodlums? In my experience, the common perception is that of mildly menacing street thugs that generally deal in loan sharking, larceny, drug dealing, pimping and the like. The people you are talking about, in my opinion, are most certainly all painted with the same brush. To commit one human atrocity, or a thousand, what is the difference? How many must one slaughter before one is different? To be a hoodlum is mainly bad. These people you speak of all define, in the purest sense, evil.
