Excerpt on Avici from current analysis Analytical Summary: We are taking a positive stance on Avici's bandwidth management capabilities and Enron Communications's acceptance of the Avici Terabit Switch Router (TSR) into the Enron network. These events will have a high impact on the industry and other terabit vendors that have not announced customer wins will need to respond in kind, and will have to address Avici's operational features, not just speeds and feeds. Avici is one of the first vendors to bring to market its terabit-class router, and the Enron 'win' is of very high importance to Avici for a number of reasons. The new terabit class vendors need customer wins to validate the product class (Enron fits the bill nicely), and Avici needed to show it was moving beyond its previously announced trials.
