You're right I should be happy Intel wasn't able to forsee the amount of growth in the sector that they are the world's dominant force in. That's allowing me to make lots on my AMD calls.

They failed by not having enough capacity to prevent the Athlon from making inroads in marketshare. Even if Cumine volume comes on line strongly this quarter it will still have to combat an Athlon that everyday is increasing its marketshare. If Intel had had the capacity this past quarter then the Athlon would not be as big a threat.

I think Intel should be paranoid about AMD. After all if an inept and bumbling company like AMD can excecute a fast processor (in MHz) launch so well (and by well I mean % of the segmented market) then what about other companies? (Mips, Transmeta, Via, Motorola)?
