Scumbria, So it(L1) is dependent on fast refill from the L2 cache which can be deep enough to have enough branches in it to sustain the optimal hit rate....bigger L2= less off chip latency.
Yet others seem to feel that getting full speed cache on the AThlon will be quite helpful?
