hey kids,
It's been a while, no?

I saw Contempt, a week or so ago. It's the first Bridget Bardot movie I'd ever seen. And I must say, I was amazed by how subtle an actress she could be. Mama mia, I had her pegged as simply the french version of the tragic blonde bombshell. But was I ever wrong.

Jack Palence is also terrific in this. The whole film leaves you with this uncomfortable knot in your gut, or at least, it did with me. And every time he's on screen...ugh. He gives you the creeps.

There's probably some more astute folks out there who've seen this, and can make sense of the obviously symbolic use of color here. I mean, it was apparent to me that there was SOMETHING going on, but for the life of me, I couldn't tell what.
