Yes. The views have been quite publicised. Apparently the guy has made quite a campaign of it, to the delight of liberals everywhere. Not surprisingly, few people challenge him except those in gun rights organisations. Unfortunately these groups are being increasingly marginalised as nothing but collections of gun toting rednecks.

Neocon claims the AG will not likely be successful, and perhaps he is right. But we cannot judge the success or failure of the matter in the short run. We must observe how the AG's proposals are being generally received to get an idea of their potential. Based upon what I have read, people do not generally scoff at his point-of-view. Many of them are in agreement with him and are desperate that something, anything, be done. Many others think there are perhaps other means available to lower crime than the wholesale banning of guns. Nevertheless I hardly think they generally scoff as if constitutional integrity is at stake, and when people take their eyes off the Constitution, the rights presented therein are about as good as gone.
