Linux news will reactivate sector:::LinuxWorld 2000, the first major Linux event in Hong Kong, officially opened its doors to the public yesterday. More than 30 exhibitors showcased Linuxware and evangelized on the upstart free operating system in several small rooms located on the sixth floor at the Hong Kong Convention Exhibition Centre. The show, which lasts for three days, kicked off with an opening keynote speech from Jon Maddog Hall, executive Director of Linux International. Halls speech, titled From Datacenter to Desktop, focused on applications built for Linux. Hall also held a signing ceremony for his latest book called Red Hat Linux for Dummies
