Thanks for the post, Midwest; an inspirational story like that is never off topic. I had about the same return as you for last year, and would like to share some thoughts.

Gorilla gaming was THE game for 1999, but it would be foolish (not as in MF <g>) to expect 2000 to be a repeat. Personally I would be delighted to experience returns in the 20% to 50% range for Y2K.

Some other sector (biotech, e-tailing, construction, health care) may get hot and offer superior short term returns to our game. I wouldn't be surprised if a number of folks on this thread didn't join that rotation, looking for their next home run.

We who had unprecedented returns in '99 would be well advised to make sure our strategy for '00 helps to preserve some of those gains. I don't expect to see another year like '99 in my investing lifetime.
