I doubt very seriously that anybody under 35 reading this agrees with you. I can assure you I am NOT ignorant of the facts as you claim.

I asked you to refute two of my points which I consider key - 1) the elderly are the wealthiest demographic group and 2) the fact that they paid little into the system, while the gen-xers are sinking under the tax burden to support this system.

Those two issues, alone, are cause for revamping the system in its entirety and cutting their benefits drastically - and I doubt you'll find too many people willing to argue about that except the over 50s who are the majority on this thread and other coffee shop threads.

Honestly if I were the elderly I'd make at least a few sacrifices now before the younger demographic reaches critical mass and cuts them off entirely. They should have raised the retirement age to 75 10+ years ago.
