My swap file goes from 25meg to over 100meg. I don't worry about its size, because I let Windows take care of the details.

Windows uses the swap file and you cannot delete it from a DOS window. Boot to DOS and the file is free from Windows' embrace and can be deleted without difficulty.

Cheers, PW.

P.S. I read of a study where it was nearly impossible to manage the swap file better than Windows does when you let it. I don't feel I can beat the odds, so I keep my hands off.

P.P.S. You can delete the swap file by manually setting the virtual memory settings to not use it, reboot, then delete, then set settings back, and reboot again. Sounds like this is more work than a boot to DOS and delete.
