Carl,

you have some very nice thoughts here. Do you think that companies like Nok, Mot, Phg, will try to expand into the area that RFMD is occupying?

which issue of Barron's did this "beating" -g- occur in. I am behind in My barron's reading this past month, but I do have it online, and I just noticed my dead-tree copy with the roundtable on the incoming shelf -g-

so I may take a look at the story.

the more LU declines here the more interested i am in picking some up.

for the longer-term portion of our portfolio, If we feel a stock is a premier company, the larger the decline below say the 200 day moving average (dma), the more appeal it has to me.

We were able to buy YHoo near the 200 dma in 1998 and at it and below it during July of 1999. I am sure we will see it there again.

RNWK on August 5th of 1999 had a low of 55 1/16 that was 2 dollars above it's 200 dma.

and I can believe we see QCOM at 100, If a company like MOT were to have a strong rumor or having developed a superior standard to the CDMA design of QCOm's that could push it down there....even if the product never materialized.

what prompted you to short the QQQ on Friday.

Thanks for your thoughts,

John
