>> What did you find humorous in the above post?
Taken out of context, none, but if you followed the exchanges leading up to that post, you'd be ROFLYAO.
Mq had just been (unjustly) branded as "sexist" by one lady, and then a cohort of hers told him he wasn't welcome on a thread to which he has been contributing for years. He responded by criticizing her use of the apostrophe and questioning her logic. Consider that,
Mq spends most of his time talking to sheep, and can't even spell "math" correctly, electing to use the corrupt version, maths, which leads to awkward sentences such as "maths is difficult".
Jill, otoh, is the author of numerous books that have been published world wide and in many languages (though not in Kiwi as yet, as it would be too difficult corrupt her spelling), is a freelancer for some of the most prestigious newspapers in the US, and teaches journalism at a major university.
If all of that isn't funny to you, I'd suggest you need to take a course in stress management.
As far as sexual identification is concerned, I have no way of determining if Mq is male or Jill is female, since I am limited to receiving binary words on my computer. All I know is that one has chosen to adopt a male persona and the other a female persona. Actually, I don't have the slightest interest in what sex they are; I only care about their ideas, not their choice of swim wear.
Very gallant (or maybe patronizing) of you to defend the (maybe) lady, Ed, but I can assure you that she doesn't need your help. Having been on the losing end of several exchanges with her I can testify that she's tougher than you and I by a mile.
