IF they're only "former" friends (which isn't at all clear to me), and IF they're shrinking (also not clear), then perhaps the two are related. You seemed to think those assertions were related enough to put them in the same paragraph. Maybe if they were better friends they'd grow faster.

I thought we were talking about efficiency in creating software functionality. There's no doubt in my mind that the profit margins of an unregulated monopoly can be high. And you can also show a high profit margin rather easily if you take much of your employee compensation cost out of the income statement by converting it to future stock dilution.

What I like is that Microsoft, the highest market capitalization company in the world (or is it second highest?), is being forced to follow an agenda set by Sun. That PLEASES me.
