I remember Investorline shorted a stock once instead of buying it for me even though it was clearly a buy order. The stock went up 60% within 15 minutes of them processing my order (as a short, not a buy). I couldn't get anywhere with them but they did have to cover the short which cost them about $2K I think. I was still pissed since I missed my window of opportunity. How often do you get to make 60% in 15 mintues? At that time my account wasn't even authorized for shorting.
