Re: How does 4.2 save downloaded data? I presume it is saved to the hard disk and the CD-Rom serves only to provide programs and formulas for the retrieval, manipulation and display of the data?

Bob has provided a good answer, but let me add one other bit of detail. As he said, data older than 120 days (give or take) resides on the CD while newly downloaded data lives on your hard disk. One variance from this is that you can also select stocks (or thousands of stocks) to save on your hard disk to eliminate the need to always keep the CD in your drive. If you do this, then the historical data for those stocks are copied from the CD over to your hard disk.
