TORONTO, Jan. 15 /CNW/ - Teknion Corporation (TSE:TKN), an international leader in office furniture design, manufacturing and marketing, today launched Transit Freestanding. Transit Freestanding is a cost-effective, aesthetically pleasing offering of freestanding desks and returns that provide a versatile, adaptable office furniture investment for growing businesses. "Companies in fast-growing sectors, such as technology and e-commerce, are sometimes reluctant to commit to systems furniture early on because they are unclear as to their needs as they grow," said David Feldberg, President and Chief Executive Officer of Teknion Corporation. "Transit Freestanding addresses this apprehension and lets companies make initial investments in office furniture that is highly functional, expandable and capable of being integrated with office systems at a later date."
Transit Freestanding is an extension of the Transit panel system. Transit Freestanding desk units can be used: - in open plan offices - with panels -- Teknion's or competitors' - in private offices -- drywall offices or in conjunction with Altos, Teknion's new relocatable, full-height wall system - with mobile office furniture, such as Teknion's award-winning Ability line
Transit Freestanding allows growing companies to begin with an open plan and evolve to a panel system at a later date, or to specify freestanding units in conjunction with the Transit panel system. There's no loss on the initial investment, as freestanding components such as worksurfaces, supports and accessories can migrate easily to a panel environment, or from a panel environment to a freestanding one, providing minimal inventory management. Transit Freestanding units adjust in height from 26 to 32 inches and allow for discreet wire management capability. Teknion Corporation (TSE:TKN) is a leading international designer, manufacturer and marketer of office systems and related office furniture products.
