I'll tell you why. Because short term filter is a flawed input. Short term filter is the price minus the 50 day moving average. What happens in the verify periods of most nets when you use it is, when a stock starts to decline, Neuro will sell until a certain threshold is met. Then it will start to buy even though the stock is still declining. Neuro will continue to buy all the way down and then sell at the bottom. Don't ask me why the program does this, because I don't know. It just does. I don't use S/T filter for any input. And when you stop to think about it, would you really want to trade a stock using the 50 day moving average as an indicator in today's volatile market? Seems a bit long to me.
