I just got a PM asking whether or not the trials for LU would be good for Q. I wanted to respond in public to clear up the question for others too.

When QCOM and ERICY reached their agreement to harmonize CDMA, they agreed to adopt three different standards of CDMA. For the details on the 3 modes of CDMA, they are spelled out in detail on the news announcement between the 2 companies.

LU's demonstration that 3G CDMA can be internetworked with UMTS wireless is directly linked to the 3 modes of 3G CDMA that have been negotiated by the ITU and supported by QCOM. Not only will LU's development of 3G CDMA with UMTS result in a windfall of royalties for QCOM for infrastructure and mobile handsets, but LU may purchase the MSM ASICS for the CDMA based UMTS network from QCOM.
