JDN,

A zygote is the cell formed upon penetration of an egg by a suitable sperm.

As Geoffrey Moore used the metaphor of a living organism (a gorilla) to characterize the companies for which we are all hunting, and as he has been quoted as saying that QCOM and JDSU are "baby gorillas", it follows that for there to be a baby, there must be an embryo, and prior to that there must be a zygote.

The medical applications of MVIS technology are of particular interest to me, and the military applications are certainly a potential huge niche market. However, the mother of all tornados would be the cellphone/personal internet device that incorporates the technology, enabling internet access free from fixed-position constraints and free from the problem of tiny displays.

It remains to be seen how MVIS implements their business plan. If they execute appropriately, and license their "heavily patented" technology for others to manufacture the Virtual Retinal Display devices, the tornado could form in a couple of years. If they pull an Apple or a Betamax, they may well crash and burn.

We will see.
