I think a lot of analysts issue a "sell" when a takeover is announced--their price target is likely exceeded at this price--it has nothing to do with company. I don't know if I will keep HWP or not--it is not a substitute for VFI. I would be exchanging my bargain priced, well managed, company in transition for a company with a completely different product mix, unknown management, and tens of billions in revenues. I will look closely at HWP to see if the fundamentals warrant keeping it. Being a extra-large cap and a Dow member makes it attractive at the moment, but at some point, large cap mania will fade. Perhaps some puts on VFI could protect us from HWP's volatile price movements. It would also protect against the deal falling through. My latest postions were established in October, and then again last week, so I must hold on a long while to reach long-term gain status. There is a lot to think about and research in the coming weeks!!
