The up side of things not being as good as they used to be is that if things continue in this direction, as they certainly must, what we have now is a lot better than what is going to be. So every single day is one of the good old days. And we can look forward to an endless succession of good old days, each one better than the next that is to follow. This is an especially cheerful thought for those holding puts in a mania. Every time you think things are going to get better, they get worse. So let us enjoy our losses and rejoice that we still have something to lose.
