I think Ron's posting above did much to answer your questions. I
might add that 1) It beats the hell out of me why they didn't antici-
pate the need for dryers, and 2) I presume they planned to rely on
the beneficent and free use of the Arizona sun.

There does appear to be a bit of confusion in your post. Electro-
winning involved but a few pounds of sludge. Here we're talking
20,000 gallons of leachate slurry. Apples and oranges I gather.

I don't know if they have, or need to have, a filter such as you
decribe. They do have a "belt filter" if that is the same thing.
