Andy, I agree that reading books is a difficult way to get a "sense" of how the market behaves. I would like to qualify that with one suggestion: Graham and Dodd's "Security Analysis." That is an excellent book for developing a strategy for evaluating a security. It has weathered the ups and downs of the market over the last 70 years and is still the "Bible" of investors using fundamentals to evaluate stocks (not momentum investors). Just my 2 cents...
