HDR--there it is again. <<The same risk-taking logic will be applied to HDR technology which will reshape the
wireless Internet market, he noted, adding that Qualcomm is betting the company on
HDR. >> (note that I am depending upon an accurate and correct second hand report by the author)

I may be beating a dead horse which no one else is interested in, but I truly believe I heard Dr. I. Jacobs say "...if and when the world moves to 3G". He was speaking about HDR at the time. I think he may be envisioning HDR as a long term solution to most of the problems supposedly resolved by 3G. If that is true, it demonstrates the intelligence of the strategy employed by Q back when we were all worried about whether or not the ITU and ETSI would even recognize CDMA--they were working on a plan, HDR, which effectively sidestepped the whole issue at least for the then current investors in CDMAone. It also suggests that at least the current carriers like BAM and sprint and LWIN would move from HDR to G4.
