Tuck, Their software front end runs on Windows or NT. LonTalk is a program in itself for the distributed communication. That way I'd guess it would be tougher to hack. But don't quote me, really general terms here. Pretty sure you could find a real focused answer at echelon.com they have several white papers that really go to extremes on exactly what is doing what to whom within their systems. I refuse to clutter my mind with facts, I'm having too much fun. (ggg) Bill
