Franco:

I love that great city of yours, but of course, it is hurting economically at the moment.

I tend to enjoy driving with my right foot well down, but in Montreal, you pass very few. No wonder the province graduates so many good Cart and Grand Prix drivers.

I love Montrealers' attitudes towards parking meters and parking restrictions. Both are completely ignored. If a car can be wedged into a spot, irrespective of a dozen "No Parking" signs festooned nearby, it is. (g)

I also love to watch the way pedestrian traffic begins to literally squeeze off the auto traffic at every stop light, half a minute before it turns green. Thirty seconds to go, out into lane one. Twenty seconds to go, lane two is crowded out. And both the drivers as well as the pedestrians try to act as though the others do not exist. (g)

Then of course, there are the 10-12 foot high snow banks at every corner once the streets have been blown out. One has to have a passenger along just so that he/she can hop out and let you know that it is safe to drive out into the intersection. (VBG)

Best, Earlie
