DUBLIN-BASED NATHANIEL ENERGY CORPORATION SUBSIDIARY NATHANIEL EUROPE
ANNOUNCES APPOINTMENT OF MR. STEVEN NORRIS AS DIRECTOR

CASTLE ROCK, Colo., Jan 18, 2000 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- Nathaniel
Energy Corporation (OTC Bulletin Board: NECX) today announced that
Nathaniel Europe, the Dublin based waste to energy company, a
subsidiary of Nathaniel Energy Corporation, has appointed Mr. Steven
Norris to its Board of Directors. NECX is to build several
thermochemical decomposition and electricity generation plants in
Ireland in 2000 with expected revenues in excess of 160 million Irish
pounds to be derived from a combination of tipping fees, the recovery
of recyclable and the sale of electricity generated.

The appointment of Mr. Norris, the former minister in John Major's
Government and currently Conservative Party Candidate for Mayor of
London, is a significant development for Nathaniel. Norris's wealth of
political and commercial experience will not only strengthen the
existing company but will assure its development into the UK waste to
energy market.

Upon election to the board Mr. Norris stated, "I have been aware for
years of the damage being inflicted upon our environment by the way we
all now live. The greatest scourge of the 21st century is our continued
dependence as a society on the practice of landfill. Not only is
landfill unsightly and dangerous but it represents a complete waste of
our precious natural resources. As a parent I have always been
concerned with the legacy that we are leaving to our children. I am
pleased and delighted to be part of the Nathaniel technology since it
not only represents a real alternative to but it produces clean
environmentally friendly renewable electricity. The use of this
technology for electricity generation also offers the potential of
import substitution, replacing a large percentage of the polluting
hydrocarbons used to generate electricity whilst immediately assisting
in redressing the emission of green-house gases, reducing the ozone
hole."

In welcoming Mr. Norris to the Board of Nathaniel, its Chairman, Dr.
C.A. McCormack, said, "The development of the Nathaniel technology and
its current roll-out in Europe represents the culmination of six years
intensive work to develop an environmentally beneficial alternative to
landfill. Given the increasing public awareness and real concern at the
level of atmospheric damage causing ozone depletion due to our current
industrial practices, the Nathaniel technology could not have come to
market at a more opportune time. I firmly believe that Steve's vast
experience and well known commitment to both a clean environment and an
enhanced quality of life for everybody is a major bonus to the
companies development. I am delighted to welcome Steve to Nathaniel,
together we can deliver a real commercially viable alternative to
landfill and assist in the now long-overdue repair of our environment."
