I haven't been following the notebook CPU price issue as carefully as I should, but I do know that in Q4 there seemed to be a dramatic increase in the retail K6-2 notebook ads. The Celeron to a degree, but particularly the PII/PIII notebooks nearly disappeared. This move (Intel price cut) may be as much an attempt to regain lost share as it is one to control the market.

As I said, I haven't been following that carefully, so my comment may be wrong.
