Thanks, Mowa, and Thomas, for paying attention.
The problem with installing Corel Linusx is:
My system stalls after Loading Linux - Starting Linux. I then have to reset the machine to free it.
I tried booting from CD and booting from floppy - both same result.
My system has UW SCSI. Normally it boots from SCSI drive C:. But I switched the BIOS Setup to booting from IDE. The IDE hard disk is DOS formatted but completely empty. I tried booting from the CD-ROM as well as from a floppy: same result. I skipped norton Antivirus with the appropriate hotkeys.
My configuration is: Pentium II 350 MHz Asus P2B-F board, 64 MB SDRam, Floppy drive (drive A:) Adaptec AHA2940 UW SCSI adapter, IOMEGA ZIP 100 SCSI (drive G:), Plextor Ultraplex SCSI CD-ROM, (drive H:) Plextor Plexwriter SCSI CD-writer (drive I:), IBM DGHS 9.1 GB Ultra Wide SCSI hard disk (drive C: and E:), IBM DJNA 371350 13.5 GB IDE (ATA) hard disk (drive D: and F:) Asus AGP V3400 TNT RIVA graphic card, Terratec EWS64XL Soundcard, Etech Bullet V90 modem, Eizo F563-T monitor 1024x728 at 100Hz refresh rate, HP Laserjet 6MP with 2x16MB extra memory, HP Postscript driver from 1997. Windows 98 Dutch, DirectX6.0 Dutch.
I Would be very happy if you can suggest a solution Eveline |
