We recently sent the following PM to all members indicating that we have published an SI Terms of Use Guidelines (see below for the link). AugustWest sent me a note indicating that the PM appeared in his inbox, but then disappeared. In case this happened to anyone else, I wanted to copy the message here so you had a record of the PM.

Thanks,

Bryan

Dear Silicon Investor Members:

First of all, I want to thank all of you for the strongest quarter of growth in Silicon Investor's history. Silicon Investor continues to set the standard by which all other message board communities are measured, and that is a direct result of the quality of SI members and the community.

As you might imagine, managing the message boards is a difficult task, and I think we should all applaud the efforts of the SI Community Administration team for their hard work and dedication in enforcing the Silicon Investor Terms of Use as fairly and consistently as possible. The Terms of Use have served the SI community well, but it's the willing commitment (at least by the vast majority of you) to abide by those terms that makes SI a compelling and enjoyable experience for all.

In an effort to further enhance the SI experience (and at the suggestion of several members), we have published a set of guidelines that outlines the process that we generally apply as we enforce the SI Terms of Use. You can access those guidelines via the following link:

SI Terms of Use Enforcement Guidelines: siliconinvestor.com

SI is a diverse community, and that diversity is one of its greatest strengths, provided that our conversations are tempered by common decency and mutual respect. At times, in the heat of the moment, tempers flare and emotions run hot. Often, these situations involve shades of gray, particularly when they involve differing personal opinions. At these times, we must rely upon the judgment and experience of the SI Community Administration team to find the most effective way to cool off the situation. Again, we appreciate your support.

I also want to take this opportunity to encourage everyone to not only continue to abide by the "letter of the law" on SI, but to abide by the Spirit of SI as well. To be sure, the Spirit of SI includes the pursuit of truth through intense debate and discussion. At the same time, the Spirit of SI embraces the aptly named Golden Rule. (I apologize if that sounds a little mushy.) In short, let's all do our part to continue to make SI the "gold standard" of Internet communities.

Thank you for your continued patronage,

Bryan A. Burdick
