DALLAS, Jan. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- STELAX Industries, Ltd. (OTC Bulletin Board: STAX) announces it has received an agreement for 2,000 pounds of NUOVINOX Reinforcing bar (Rebar) for the State of Maine Department of Transportation. The rebar will be used as a non-corrosive solution in the pre-cast sections that will be used in the Seavey Bridge. Construction is scheduled to begin in the spring of 2000.

NUOVINOX is carbon steel that is cladded with stainless steel and is priced substantially lower than solid stainless steel.

Nino Cacace, Managing Director of STELAX Industries, Ltd., said, "The use of NUOVINOX in pre-cast sections represent a natural evolution for STELAX and will extend the life of those sections. NUOVINOX's versatility and durability allows it to be the most cost effective non-corrosive rebar."
