James,

People have been suggesting that Gemstar bought SoftBook and Nuvomedia for the IP. Here's the abstract of the only patent I could find assigned to SoftBook:

Gemstar recently invested in Telecruz and I noticed that since that date Telecruz was awarded 3 of their 4 patents. No one knows what eBook IP Gemstar has in the many hundreds of pending patents or what the acquired have pending.

I was recently informed that Henry has even established some companies for the sole purpose of assigning patents in their names to keep from the competition. Was also told that this is not an uncommon practice but it was news for me.

Regards
Stew
