Rainmaker Systems Helps Norton Antivirus Customers Renew Upgrade Insurance And GoldCare Support Subscriptions SCOTTS VALLEY, Calif., Jan. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Rainmaker Systems (Nasdaq: RMKR - news), a leading provider of web-based Customer Relationship Management (eCRM) services today announced that Symantec has hired Rainmaker to perform Renewal services for small businesses using Symantec's Norton AntiVirus whose upgrade insurance is expiring. As part of the agreement, Rainmaker will continue to provide the web-based Attachment services for Symantec's GoldCare Support Program, which it has been providing since March 1999.
``Rainmaker's services have helped to educate our corporate customers about Symantec's technical support programs and allowed them to more easily subscribe to those programs,' said Keith Robinson, vice president of Americas sales and marketing at Symantec. ``This agreement extends our relationship with Rainmaker to provide that service to our Norton AntiVirus small business customers who need to renew their upgrade insurance.'
Symantec's Norton AntiVirus, designed to keep corporations protected from the latest viruses, provides a one-year contract for upgrade insurance. Rainmaker will focus on small businesses using Norton AntiVirus and leverage Rainmaker's proprietary multi-step Renewals systems and methodology, to ensure Norton AntiVirus small business customers are aware of the Norton AntiVirus offer well in advance of expiration, and know the benefits of renewing.
``We are pleased to have earned this additional way to provide eCRM services for Symantec,' said Janice Wissler, executive vice president worldwide sales and marketing for Rainmaker. ``Expanding the relationship to include Renewals for their flagship Norton AntiVirus product, and extending the Attachment contract gives us an even greater opportunity to add value to Symantec and its customer relationships.'
