Chris How do you understand what God said through Malachi concerning the tithe? I realize full well that our treasure should indeed be above all things in heaven and I do see "exceptions" even in those who suffer being martryed. However there are general rules: Proverbs 16:7 When a man's ways please the LORD, he maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him. Paul was pleasing to the Lord but his enemies were not at peace with him. Jesus was pleasing.. "in whom I am well pleased" You see we can not call God a liar or doubt God's general promises because we can find exception.. It is true that when a man's way please the Lord "GENERALLY" God will make even his enemies to be at peace with him. We cannot argue from exceptions to the rule but rather from the God given rule to the exception.. God has promised to Bless those who tithe but not without exception... We are not to tithe to get nor to get caught up in seeking those things that are of the earth... No matter what God ordains for our lives either riches or rags we are called to admit that God does all things well: Phil 4:12 I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. 13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
