Brian, I believe that God is deadly (spiritually speaking)serious about all of the commandments. If one really gives some thought to them, they are not that difficult to keep, once one realizes the consequences.
I have always had a question in my mind that has not been answered to my satisfaction. I know that all Christians should tithe but, how do we know that the tithes ultimately are received by God. There is a plethora of evangelists who ask one to send them their money, and they will use it for God's purposes but, I find too many things many of them do, to have confidence in them. Putting money in the "plate" at a church service is supposed to do it but, many times such funds are used to pave the parking lot, or build a new, and bigger building to preach in. Until I can find, and believe, the ultimate answer to this question, my family gives money, and most of all, time to benefit those Christians less fortunate than we are, and participate in charities that can prove that the money goes directly to those who are in need. It's not like we could just mail a check to Heaven.
