Acer America's TravelMate 730 Series Steps Up With Intel's Fastest New Processors
SAN JOSE, Calif., Jan. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Acer America Corp. today introduced the newest member of the award-winning line of TravelMate notebooks. The TravelMate 730 series offers an unbeatable combination of industrial power management, ergonomic design and multimedia technology in a slim profile, and increased performance as a result of Intel's(R) latest Mobile Pentium(R) III processors with SpeedStep(TM) technology.

No Compromise
The new series delivers the latest multimedia capabilities across four distinct configurations featuring Intel Pentium III processors running at 450MHz, 500MHz, 600MHz and 650MHz with 256K of integrated cache on die. For accelerated data transfer rates and demanding applications, these newest TravelMates are built with a 100MHz front side bus and up to 256MB PC-100 DRAM memory. The series also features either 14.1-inch or 15-inch TFT XGA LCD displays supporting dual display mode capabilities.
Driven by 2X AGP, superior 3-D graphics, MPEG-2 acceleration for DVD playback, and with optional external USB camera, the TravelMate 730 features the latest ATI Rage LT video chipset packed with 8MB of embedded SDRAM. Its low-profile, all-in-one, removable modular bay is stocked with a 6X DVD or 24X CD-ROM.
The TravelMate 730 series additionally integrates two state of the art NXT flat panel speakers with PCI 64-bit 3-D crystal sound, for professional presentations. Its cutting edge ergonomic design incorporates an industrial-strength magnesium alloy chassis and carries a single Li-Ion battery providing up to five hours of battery life for extended use on the road. For high speed Internet access, these TravelMates have integrated Intel 10/100 Ethernet and a 56K V.90 modems.
TravelMate 730s are preloaded with Windows 98 with driver support for Windows NT and Windows 2000, and are bundled with MS Works 2000 and TimeMachine by Acer. By taking regular snapshots of the hard drive's system files, Acer's TimeMachine technology enables users to restore system settings in four clicks.

Pricing
The new Acer TravelMate 730 series will be available through Acer authorized resellers throughout North America in late January starting at $2,499.
