Integrated GERS-Descartes Solution Offers Robust E-Commerce Order & Fulfillment Capabilities

SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 19, 2000-- GERS Retail Systems, a leading supplier of enterprise-wide solutions
for the business-to-consumer marketplace, announced today that it has formed a strategic alliance with The Descartes Systems
Group Inc. (Nasdaq:DSGX - news; TSE:DSG - news), a leading provider of e-Commerce fulfillment solutions, to provide
high-performance customer fulfillment networks for home delivery operations.

Under the strategic alliance, GERS will offer Descartes' wireless routing and scheduling optimization solutions to enable both its
traditional and e-business customers to meet time windows for pickup, sales, service and delivery. Integrated into the GERS
Point-of-Sale system, Descartes' real-time scheduling solution will enable sales representatives to offer customers a choice of
delivery times based on available time windows. The Descartes system verifies customer's address at the point of order, then
creates optimized routes and schedules that meet customer time windows while minimizing delivery costs.
