Diversinet Licenses Passport Certificate, Permit Servers To Senscom For Wireless E:Commerce, Asp Applications
SAN JOSE, CALIFORNIA, RSA Conference--

Agreement calls for combined product development and marketing activities

Diversinet Corp., (NASDAQ Small Cap: DVNT; CDN: DVNT,) a leader in security for wireless e-commerce applications, today signed a letter of intent with SensCom Inc., a supplier of certificate management services and applications for e-Business solutions, to license and integrate Diversinet's Passport Certificate Server and Digital Permit(TM) Server products for use in SensCom's wireless Internet e-commerce services and applications. The deal represents a multimillion-dollar value over the term of the contract.

The agreement will enable SensCom to outfit their wireless Internet e-commerce applications and offerings. In addition, SensCom will provide public Certificate Authority (CA) services, which will validate corporate e-commerce transactions for customers who do not have capability to act as their own CA.

``The partnership with SensCom provides us with another excellent distribution channel for unique, patented approach to wireless security,' says Nagy Moustafa, president and CEO of Diversinet. ``By using Diversinet's technology, SensCom can now bring to market secure, state-of-the-art wireless e-commerce and wireless ASP solutions.'

The letter of intent specifically calls for SensCom to license The Passport Certificate Server 3.0 and Digital Permit Server 2.0. The Passport Certificate and Digital Permit Servers work cooperatively to provide secure authorization services over distributed network architectures. Digital Permit Server issues Digital Permits, which are digitally signed documents that link to the public-key certificates of users. Digital Permits can be used to carry application specific information, such as rights and privileges to authorized users.

"The Passport Certificate Server and Digital Permit Server Products give SensCom another value-add for our wireless Internet e-commerce solutions," said Tarek Fouad, President and CEO of SensCom. "Our partnership with Diversinet allows us to provide the highest level of security to the end-user, and assure the customer that their personal information will not be compromised."

Initial plans call for the two companies to develop a pilot trial, utilizing two applications requiring certificate/permit technology, to be deployed in wireless devices such as RIM Blackberry Pagers, Palm Devices and non-WAP enabled phones. Further iterations of the program will also allow for the implementation of WAP certificates.
