Hi Dan: My objection to Gilder's advocacy of CDMA is that CDMA is a technology whose merit is strongly context dependent. I do not have problems with its advantage for wireless voice communications (QCOM's turf). In every instance, CDMA's merits should be evaluated carefully, but Gilder is too attracted by grand paradigms. DMT/OFDM is an interesting technology, but for now the issue is moot for cable. My prediction is that QAM is there to stay for cable communications. Best regards, Bernard Levy
