"i got the ask, is'nt that normal"

In a slow moving stock, maybe, with a fast broker. Momentum stocks with news, a definate no. If you used a OLB, market order, with some of these fast movers it could come back a point, or whatever, more than you thought it would. I've bought stocks for say $4 and a minute later it would be trading at 5 1/2. It's a every day event where I get my daytrading picks.
The last market order I put in at my old OLB was MSFT, it was showing 17 1/4 realtime streaming quotes. And I waited to get my confirm back, & waited, & waited. I called the 1800 number & held for 1 hr before I hung up. About that time my confirm buy arrived at thier web site showing 17 13/16. During that hour MSFT traded at 18 7/8. At the time I recieved my confirm MSFT was trading at 17 1/2. I put in a sell at market order, turned my compuer off, called the broker and told him to cut me a check, picked it up in 30 min, drove to a Daytrading Broker and opened a account. The best move I ever made.
