Amy, well at first glance, looks like nice power characteristics (low) but what else? Real snazzy for hand-held devices, but how about StrongArm? Here's the dreaded E (emulation) word: The 3120 will be made on the 0.22-micron manufacturing process while the 5400 will be made on the more advanced 0.18-micron process. Both chips will use a combination of hardware and software to emulate an Intel compatible chip. Has there ever been an emulator that ran anywhere near as fast as the real McCoy? In a word, no. Then, they must be testing it for performance, so can it be that bad? Another Rise, or another ARM? 700 MHz at midyear, Intel'l be at 1 GHz this year, same probably for AMD.
