This has been an interesting debate over S-CDMA and it technical merits. TERN's S-CDMA market seems to be overseas and I do not see a reason that this market will "go to zero". If my understanding of the arguements below is correct, S-CDMA may offer some efficiencies in delivering more and varied content over older cable at the cost of greater power requirements. Other than the DOCSIS 1.0 first mover advatage here in the US, I don't see that S-CDMA is inherently bad. The first mover advantage for S-CDMA could apply to several international markets. The ability to stream bursts multiple types of data does seem to fit the bill for offering various internet telephony services to the home; but I am not sure of the cost/efficiencies of competing technologies. I would say that TERN's management seems to be focused on building a portfolio of broadband telephony infrastructure products. They sell a DOCSIS compliant modem and their video content management tool CherryPicker is reputed to be very good.

Just some thoughts,
Steve
