David,

First point: show me that the dfr300 is shipping. Show me a link.

Second point: ESAF works with idt stuff...obviously they have some kind of agreement whereby ESAF can sell their stuff. So...I am not so sure there is a hardware price advantage.

Third point: Biologon requires a server license whereas ESAF does not...correct? That means $899 added onto the price (for 25 users) that ESAF does not have...true?

Fourth point: Secugen is at $70 in quantity...more with ESAF of course... But until I see proof that DFR300 is shipping...I am going to wait to pass judgment on whether comparison to DFR300 pricing is outdated.

Fifth point: ESAF gets the algo as part of the hardware package... So the Algo supplier...in an idx relationship...would be IDX. ESAF may or may not charge a markup on the algo...but of course pricing will be adjusted to the situation. Is this what you mean by ESAF reseller markup?

Sixth point: why ESAF? Multi-environment support (TNG/Novell/NT)...multiple solutions...and open standards. That makes it less likely that someone who buys a biometric product will have to continue to buy from that biometric provider...more of a free market thing.

Seventh point: the "fact" that IDX algos will be incorporated into Novell's OS? Where do you read this?

Eighth point: assuming that the algos are already in there...so what? ESAF has a application in there...that we know for a fact is going to be embedded...and using BSPs...damn near any solution can be used... I don't see your point.

Regards,
Bob
