London Financial Times today highlighted technology from NN called "orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM)" in the PLT market. NN's technology "has the potential to offer much greater bandwidth than is available now". ALA product currently does 2 meg.

Apparently NT squelched a project last year for last mile access on electricity grid even though it worked just fine. In Europe the article says this technology will take off, and could even be used to wire up schools etc in USA must cheaper than running all the optical stuff. The suspicion is that NT saw that the technology would endanger other parts of their business.

Anyone ever look into this side of NN ?
