SHORT TERM TRADER
mschultz@mercuryin.es

1-18-00

The SHORT TERM TRADER recommends stocks in the $.10-$10 range. They are
longer term trades lasting from weeks to months. The TRADERS FAXLINE is
our premium service that has been around since 1990. It is a twice a day
email recommenduing stocks in the $10-$100 range, stock options and OEX
options. The trades are typically 1-5 days and we are look for a 2-5
point profit. You have seen the results from that service reported here
in the SHORT TERM TRADER. If you trade the more expensive stocks, stock
options and OEX options, TRADERS FAXLINE is the service for you.

The DJIA was up 140 points and the NASDAQ Index was up 107 points, as both markets set new highs. We should get a continuation of the rally Monday morning, a pullback of less than a day o or two and then a rally into Friday's option expiration, We normally see quite a lot of volatility during option expiration week and with this week only having 4
trading days, it could get wild. Watch the $5-10 stocks for some 50-100% moves over the next two months. We had a four DIRTY DOZEN picks Friday which we sent to paid subscribers. We will make those picks public today. Paid subscribers get these picks 1-3 days ahead of non-subscribers. If you only save $.125 per share on 2,500 shares, that will pay for a 1 year
subscription to the SHORT TERM TRADER. Sometimes the price difference is
up to $.10-.75 higher by the time non-subscribers get the new picks. It
is really worth while, to become a subscriber.

We will continue to trade around the support and resistance numbers that
we give in the TRADERS FAXLINE overnight update. On Friday, we had the
following winning trades: VTSS + 5, PGEX + 2 1/2, LVLT + 7, VSEA + 4 3/8,
UTX + 1 1/2, PCMS + 2 3/8, MXIM + 3 1/4, SBAS + 2 5/8, ADI + 8,
ANAD + 9 3/4, ATHY + 5, VOXX + 5, CPQ + 1 1/2, MICC + 8 1/2, USWB + 2 7/8 PAYX + 4, RFMD + 8, NTRO + 3, GWW + 3 1/8, CS + 4 1/4, GNET + 10 1/2 and
AHAA + 6 3/4. There were no losing trades. Our trailing stops keep the losses small. Look at the number of 5-10 winners we generate every week. Last week we have had 3 OEX trades for 16 1/2 points. The previous week we had 2 winning OEX trades for 13 points. Three weeks ago we had 2 winning OEX trades for a 4 3/4 point gain using about $15,000 in trading capital. On the OEX Options we buy around $15,000 worth per trade when
the option prices drop during expiration week. That keeps the dollar
level of our trades fairly constant throughout the month.

We had promised that we would keep you up to date on the trading results
from the Traders Faxline service (trading stocks $10-$100 and OEX and
stock options looking for 2-5 point gains in 1-5 days). For the week
ending January 14, 2000, we had the most profitable week of trading for our subscribers with large gains and a huge winning percentage. The total for losing trades was only 1.50 points versus 338.75 points in the winning trades. We had 69 winning trades averaging a 4.90 point gain in 1.85 days. The 3 losing trades averaged 0.50 points in 1.33 days. Overall, we had 95.8% winning trades and the gains were nearly 10 times larger than the losses. For subscription details email us and ask for the TRADERS FAXLINE.

STOCK UPDATES FOR THE SHORT TERM TRADER

When there is any news or change of opinion, we will have it on this
update. If a stock is not mentioned, it does not mean we have stopped
covering it.

I would hope that if you make decent money on these picks, you would
subscribe to the SHORT TERM TRADER. Subscriptions start at $100 for 3
months, $175 for 6 months and $300 for the year.

WE WERE TRYING TO GIVE YOU A FULL REPORT THIS WEEKEND ON RCAI, BUT WE WERE DOWN MOST OF THE WEEKEND DUE TO THE STORMS HERE. WE WILL HAVE IT OUT IN THE NEXT DAY OR TWO, BUT DON'T WAIT FOR THE REPORT TO BUY. IT COULD BE
QUITE A BIT HIGHER BY THEN.

RECYCLING CENTERS OF AMERICA (RCAI) $1.75 + 18 on 24,600 shares. Look for
the stock to breakout through the old high of $1.80+ and head up to the
$3+ area. The Company announced that they will complete the acquisition
of Brody Special Projects Company. It will add a great deal to RCAI in
both contracts and key personel. I will email you the press release if
you can not access it. I would not wait any longer to buy the stock and
look for a 100% price move in the next month or two.

KINETICS (KNET) $6.31 + 1.25 on 398,300 shares. The stock exploded and
set a new 52 week closing high. Closing above $6.50 should take the stock
to the 8+ area for starters. There have been 3 press releases in the past
3 weeks and I hear that the news will keep on coming. There should be
additional ventures announced and the company will be filing for a NASDAQ
listing as soon as their audits are completed. We are hearing that a
research report will be sent out on the stock next week to over 4,000
institutional clients. That should be the impetus to take the stock
higher.

EVANS SYSTEMS (EVSI:NASDAQ) $5.00 + $.63 on 417,200 shares. We gave
this to SHORT TERM TRADER subscribers at $3.19 on 1-04-2000. We should
see at least $5-6+ or possibly $8.

COMPU-DAWN (MYTN:NASDAQ) $14.25 + 2.38 on 978,800 shares. We gave this
stock to SHORT TERM TRADER subscribers at $6.59 on 1-07-2000. A deal with
Walmart could see the stock at $15 or more.

HYPERDYNAMICS (HYPD) $5.63 + $.10 on 77,200 shares. We are expecting
news on a cash infusion and acquisitions that could take the stock to the
$10+ area in a very short time.

DIMENSIONAL VISION (DVUI) $1.12 + .03 on 47,200 shares. Closing above
$1.50 should take the stock to $1.80 and then to the old highs of $2.50+.

WE GAVE SHORT TERM TRADER SUSBSCRIBERS 4 NEW DIRTY DOZEN PICKS ON FRIDAY.
EMAIL US OR CALL FOR SUBSCRIPTION INFORMATION.

SOUTHSHORE CORP. (SHSO) $3.63 on 88,200 shares. We will have a more
detailed update later this week. The company recently announced an
agreement to acquire RV Holiday.com. RV Holiday.com was formed to take
advantage of a business that has not kept up with the Internet
revolution. The company will transform the purchase and financing of
recreational vehicles. It will also offer information on campground
availability, highway conditions, weather forecasting, road service,
repair facility locations and networking with RV enthusiasts. Revenues
will come from sales and financing of RVs as well as the advertising that
most portals use as their sole source of income. The company is acquiring
dealerships in key locations across the USA.

We look for a short term move to the $8+ area and as the story develops
$10+ is reasonable. There are other analysts looking at the SHSO and we
should see a pick up in price and volume shortly. This does allow our
readers to position themselves before any other services.

NEW PICKS FROM 1-14-2000:

KUSHNER-LOCKE (KLOC:NASDAQ) $6.00 Trading above $6.50 should see $9 or $10-11. There are vague takeover rumors. It has options which could increase your percentage return if the move occurs before Feb 18, 2000. The Feb 5 Calls (KCUBA) are priced at $1.75-2.00.

IMMUNE RESPONSE (IMNR:NASDAQ) $7.06 + $.68 on 1,050,500 shares. Trading
above 6 1/2 could see 8-10. This stock also has stock options. The Feb 5
Calls (IMQBA) closed at $1.75-1.94. They expire on 2-18-2000.

GUARDIAN TECH (GRDN:NASDAQ) $3.25 + .25 on 253,700 shares. The stock
could have a short term move to $5+. That would be a 66% return in a
month.

CELERITY SYSTEMS (CLRT:OTCBB) $2.11 + .40 on 1,370,200 shares. I got a call on this one late Thursday from a very good source. While I was
researching it, the price move up $.40 in the last 90 minutes of trading.
I would not normally chase a stock like this, except it is the same
people who brought SSOL and KNET to my attention. I would like to buy any
dips, but we may have to chase this one. Target $3-4+ or higher.

A FEW HUNDRED SHARES OF ANY OF THESE STOCKS WOULD HAVE PAID FOR A WHOLE
YEAR OF THE SHORT TERM TRADER.

I would like to ask our readers to send a few emails to friends or
colleagues asking them to try a 1 month free trial of the SHORT TERM
TRADER. It will help to grow the service and also bring additional
interest in your stocks. I am happy to extend that same offer to any of
the financial websites and chatrooms that you may visit. Additional
readers would help to build this into a service with the long term
reputation that our TRADERS FAXLINE has had over the last 9 years. Thanks
for your support.
