Seagate had a pretty big run in the month before earnings, and I'm guessing that there was some buying beforehand which was short term trading money hoping for a pop. I'm guessing that HDD is the company that took share on the "low end of the high end". At least they are the company that SEG and others usually mention as having a relatively strong new "high end" business, not WDC, and Maxtor doesn't really have a high end, though they are creeping up there with their 7200 drives. It remains to be seen, though, if HDD's build plan allowed them the flexibility to capitalize on WDC's desktop woes, or if Maxtor grabbed the lion's share of it, as many have speculated. DSS has seen it's low for the nonce, unless they have sour news on SDLT.
