Online Broker A.B. Watley Anticipates Record Fiscal First

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 19, 2000--A.B. Watley Group Inc.
(NASDAQ: ABWG) premier provider of online and Institutional trading
services through its brokerage firm A.B. Watley, Inc.
(www.abwatley.com) today announced that it expects to report record
first quarter account and transaction growth.

Company highlights for the quarter include:
- The Company experienced account growth in excess of 38% during

the quarter and a 254% increase as compared to the first quarter

1999.
- Transactional volume during the quarter increased exponentially.

A.B. Watley transactions grew to 304,173 transactions, an

increase of 39% from the fourth quarter and 244% from the year

ago period.
- Total customer assets grew 69% to approximately $320 million

compared to the fourth quarter and 103% compared to the year ago

period. The average account balances for the Company's two

distinct trading platforms, UltimateTrader and WatleyTrader

stands at approximately $80,000 and $40,000, respectively.

The Company expects to report its first quarter fiscal year
results during the week of February 6th 2000.
