Am I right in thinking that closing out options (as opposed to exercising them) does not result in stock movement and so has no effect on share price? If so, and the majority of our short-term speculation has been buying Jan calls rather than shares, then that may mean that there will not be as many real sellers out there tomorrow as the shorts might wish for?
