Mula, Itanium, I would venture a guess in 2 years time frame you would be seeing them on the desktop. Two years from right now or two years from when it comes out? Either way sounds very aggressive. Barrett or Grove went on record that IA-64 and IA-32 would coexist for ten years, I think it was. Assumption then is that 32 bit goes away. Also, the high power (watts), and cost of Itanium probably keeps it in servers and workstations for a good while. Further, available software can't ramp up immediately. We can only wait and see who is right. Tony
