Scrapps, the market has spoken over the last month about the potential
impact of Intel's move on 3Com. I agree it's overdone, but the market is
the only objective judgment available. Regardless of what the true
long-term value of 3Com is, it is irresponsible to set a price based on
an understanding of the value of business A and B at time 0 and to
accept the same price at time 1 when the FAIR MARKET VALUE of business B
has declined by 25 percent.
